Terms of Service

Last updated: 3 October 2026

1. Summary

These terms apply when you use the Recipes app and this website (recipesapp.dev). By downloading or using Recipes, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

2. Licence

Recipes is licensed to you, not sold. Your use of the app is governed by Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement (the Licensed Application EULA), which applies in addition to these terms. If the two conflict, Apple’s EULA prevails for the app. You may use Recipes on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store usage rules. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the app, except where the law allows it.

3. Your recipes

Your recipes belong to you. They are plain Markdown files stored on your device, in your iCloud Drive, or in a folder you choose, and the developer never receives them. You are responsible for the content you create and for keeping backups. Because files are stored by your device and by services such as iCloud, the developer can’t recover recipes that are deleted, overwritten or lost.

4. Formatting and importing

Features such as Format with Apple Intelligence and importing from photos or screenshots rely on Apple’s on-device technology and can make mistakes. Check imported and formatted recipes, including ingredients, quantities, temperatures, timings and allergen information, before you cook from them. Availability depends on your device and operating system.

5. Purchases and refunds

Recipes is a one-time purchase through the App Store. Payments, receipts and refunds are handled entirely by Apple, and the developer can’t issue refunds directly. To request one, use reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

6. This website

You’re welcome to browse this website and use the press kit to write about Recipes. Please don’t misuse the site, attempt to disrupt it, or use automated tools to overload it. Links to third-party sites, including Apple and Kit, are provided for convenience, and the developer isn’t responsible for their content. How the site handles data is described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Ownership

The Recipes name, app, icon, website and related materials are owned by the developer and protected by copyright and other laws. Apple, iCloud, Siri, Shortcuts, Spotlight, Apple Intelligence and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc.

8. No warranty

Recipes is provided “as is” and “as available”. The developer doesn’t promise that it will be error-free, uninterrupted or suitable for any particular purpose, to the extent the law allows. Recipes is not a source of dietary, medical or food safety advice.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the developer isn’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Recipes. Total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t lawfully be excluded, and your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

10. Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time, for example when features change. Updates will be posted on this page with a new date. Continuing to use Recipes after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, although you may also have the right to bring a claim in the courts of the part of the UK where you live, or under local consumer law where you live.
